Many actors are involved at the territorial scale to support and facilitate agroecological transitions either through formal projects and missions or more informally: experts, civil society organisations, local authorities, committed individuals etc. They conceive their own role very differently and adopt very diverse approaches to facilitation; some would rely on bottom up empowering approaches, others would favour more objective and assessment oriented approaches, some would try to combine different perspectives etc.
Our work in ATTER aims at characterizing these different conceptions and approaches to facilitation based on:
- An analysis of the available literature, on the landscape of “facilitation actors” in our 5 different countries,
- On the analysis of those actually acting in our 16 Case Studies.
Based on ATTER’s experiences, we also produce guides that propose benchmarks for those who are in a position to accompany transitions.
