Which roles evaluation takes or could take for the transition process ? ATTER explores this questions based on its 16 case studies. We built a grid of characterisation of evaluation approaches that could help scientists and actors to consider the different visions embedded in evaluation approaches already developed around sustainability goals. According if they are objective or process oriented, expert or actors led, for example, evaluation would contribute to frame transition as a rather determinist or as a rather open-ended process. This grid is currently tested in case studies for which we try to assess what the evaluation is made of. Three innovative evaluation approches are also experimented in some CS.
